Airport Developments Limited (ADL), the company that owns and manages Lilongwe International Airport, was incorporated in 1977 under the Companies Act with the purpose of spearheading the development of the then new Lilongwe International Airport. In 1983 the company took on additional functions of managing and operating the new airport on a commercial basis. In the same year Lilongwe International Airport became fully operational and was designated the main gateway to and from Malawi. We are essentially commercially oriented. Our aim is to manage and operate Lilongwe International Airport to a high degree of efficiency, with greatest regard for safety and security and to strict standards of hygiene and cleanliness. We achieve this goal through close liaison with the aviation partners at the airport who perform various specialised functions. Lilongwe International Airport (LIA) is situated in the Central Region of Malawi, 28 kilometres to the north of Lilongwe City, the Capital of Malawi. It boasts of a relatively modern and clean passenger terminal building and has adequate infrastructure and facilities for the safe operation of aircraft and smooth processing of passengers. The airport is conveniently located 100 kms away |
